Eligibility Requirements

Option A: Diploma

Passed a minimum 3-year / 2-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering & Technology from an AICTE-approved institution.

Minimum: 45% marks (40% for reserved categories).

Option B: B.Sc.

Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized university. Must have passed 10+2 examination with Mathematics as a subject.

B.Voc Provision

B.Voc / 3-year D.Voc in same/allied sector or an NCVT-approved Diploma.

MDU Provision

Special provision for an additional B.Tech degree under MDU's specified ordinance framework (requires 4-year B.Tech with 50%).

Detailed Step-by-Step Admission Process

A comprehensive guide to securing your B.E./B.Tech Lateral Entry seat through OCET.

Step 1: Preparation and Eligibility

  • Read the Brochure: Thoroughly read the admission brochure available at hstes.org.in or techeduhry.gov.in.
  • Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the minimum academic qualifications:
    • Passed a 3-year/2-year (Lateral Entry) Diploma in Engineering/Technology with at least 45% (40% for reserved category).
    • OR Passed B.Sc. with 45% (40% for reserved category) and 10+2 with Mathematics.
    • OR Passed B.Voc/3-year D.Voc.
  • Note for MDU Rohtak: Candidates with a 4-year B.Tech can also apply.
  • Check for Special Categories: Confirm criteria for Kashmiri Migrants (KM), Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW), or EWS if applicable.

Step 2: Online Registration for OCET-2026

  • Timeline: Registration opens on 22.05.2026 and closes on 23.06.2026.
  • Website: Visit techadmissionshry.gov.in.
  • Sign Up: Provide your PPP ID (Haryana residents) or Aadhaar number (non-Haryana residents). Personal details will be auto-fetched from the PPP database.
  • Upload Documents: Upload required documents, recent photograph (max 30KB) and signature (max 20KB).
  • Pay Registration Fee (Non-refundable):
    • General Category: ₹1000/-
    • All Reserved Categories: ₹700/-
    Payment can be made online via Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

Step 3: Download Admit Card & Appear for Exam

  • Admit Card: Available for download from 26.06.2026 onwards.
  • Exam: OCET-2026 starts on 30.06.2026. It is 90 minutes long with 90 multiple-choice questions covering topics from the Diploma curriculum.

Step 4: Check OCET Result & Rank

The inter-se-rank of candidates will be displayed on the official admission portal on 08.07.2026.

Step 5: Participate in Online Counseling

Admission is based on the rank obtained in OCET-2026. Two rounds of centralized counseling will be conducted online off-campus.

1st Counseling

  • Choice Filling: 09-12 Jul 2026
  • Seat Allotment: 13 Jul 2026
  • Physical Reporting: 14-16 Jul 2026

2nd Counseling

  • Choice Filling: 17-19 Jul 2026
  • Seat Allotment: 20 Jul 2026
  • Physical Reporting: 21-23 Jul 2026
  • Login: Use your Unique Application Number and Password.
  • Locking Choices: Mandatory to lock choices; otherwise, last filled choices are final.
  • Upgradation: If upgraded in 2nd counseling, the previous seat is automatically cancelled.

Step 6: Document Verification

  • Download provisional seat allotment letter.
  • Pay semester fees (if not already paid).
  • Submit original documents for verification.
  • Carry 3 sets of attested photocopies.

Step 7: Final Admission

After successful verification and fee payment, the institute will issue a system-generated Provisional Admission Slip. Your admission is confirmed!
