Admission Process in Haryana

Admission process for B.E./B.Tech Lateral Entry (LEET) is distinct from regular entry, based on a separate Online Common Entrance Test (OCET).

Step-by-Step Admission Process

1 Check Eligibility Criteria

Ensure you meet the academic qualifications. The key requirement is a diploma or a B.Sc degree in a relevant field.

  • Diploma Holders: Completed a 3-year diploma in Engineering/Technology from a recognized institution with at least 45% (40% for reserved categories).
  • B.Sc Graduates: B.Sc degree from a recognized university with at least 45% (40% for reserved categories).
  • Additional Requirement: Must have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level.

2 Online Registration

Register at techadmissionshry.gov.in ↗

  • Timeline: Window typically opens around May/June.
  • Mandatory Details: Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) ID is mandatory for Haryana candidates. System fetches and verifies details. Unverified data may lead to General Category consideration.
  • Document Upload: Scanned photograph, signature, and category certificates (PDF, Max 100KB).
  • Registration Fee: ₹1000 for General Category, ₹700 for Reserved Categories. Paid online and non-refundable.

3 & 4 OCET Exam & Counseling

Step 3: Appear for OCET

  • Admission is based on rank obtained in the Online Common Entrance Test (OCET) for Lateral Entry.
  • Download admit card from the portal and bring a printed copy + valid photo ID.
  • Conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT) in late June/early July.

Step 4: Counseling & Choices

  • Merit list prepared based on OCET rank.
  • Log in to counseling portal and fill institute/branch choices in priority order.
  • Locking Choices: Highly advisable. If unlocked, last saved choices are final.
  • TFW and KM categories have separate parallel counseling.

5 & 6 Allotment & Reporting

Step 5: Seat Allotment

  • Results announced by NIC based on OCET rank, category, and choices filled.
  • Download Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.

Step 6: Physical Reporting

  • Report to the allotted institute with Provisional Seat Allotment Letter.
  • Deposit the semester fee.
  • Produce all original documents for verification. Institute generates Provisional Admission Slip.
  • Failure to report by the deadline leads to automatic forfeiture of the seat.

7 Upgradation (Subsequent Counseling)

  • Candidates seeking a better branch/institute can participate in the 2nd counseling round.
  • Important: By participating in the 2nd counseling, your previous seat is automatically cancelled if a new seat is allotted.
  • Do not participate if satisfied with 1st counseling allotment.
